Trump Tower
Well, regardless of where he is, the Secret Service has to be there. I do agree he may be the most threatened president of our time, though. I heard speculation that Melania may not plan on living in the White House full time, but I certainly hope Trump does because that's where the people expect him to be. Considering how controversial he is, I don't think it would look good for him to change traditions.

Your gut feeling
I second those sentiments, Katie. I predicted months ago that there would be protests over a Trump win and, unfortunately, I was right. I heard this morning that two police officers were shot at 4:00am outside of Pittsburgh. I hope and pray that incident wasn't related to the election.

Your gut feeling
Well, was that an election or was that an election?!? I don't remember ever seeing an election night like that. I fell asleep before it was over and woke up this morning to a Trump win. Now that he's in and we don't have to deal with her anymore, where do you think we should go from here? I have to say that I was impressed with his gracious speech in the wee hours of the morning and I am very happy that he handled it as professionally as he did.

Hmm, I hope that you're wrong about Hillary Clinton. Personally, I'm hoping that she'll be indicted right before the election.

Unfortunately, there's no way for that to happen now. I am absolutely disgusted with Comey for coming out with the news about the emails and then releasing yet another statement that they haven't found anything. I don't know what it's going to take for her to be indicted at this point. The wishful-thinker in me is hoping she'll get cuffed when she shows up to vote. [biggrin]

Pearly Gates
I remember hearing this joke back in the 90s when Bill Clinton was in office and it seems appropriate once again.

Hillary died and was met at The Pearly Gates by St. Peter. Surrounding them were millions of clocks, each ticking at a different speed. Hillary asked St. Peter what the story was with the clocks. He told her, "Each person has their own clock. Your sins are represented by how fast the hands on the clock tick. For example, here is Abraham Lincoln's clock (ticking very slowly). And here is Martin Luther King, Jr.'s clock (also ticking very slowly). And here is Richard Nixon's clock (ticking at a moderate speed)." Hillary replied, "Interesting. Out of curiosity, where is my husband's clock?" St. Peter answered, "Oh, that one. God's using his clock as a ceiling fan."

BOO!
We currently live in Pennsylvania, but we celebrated Halloween in Colorado because my husband is there for work. Every year we do a family theme and dress up with our seven-year-old daughter. This year the theme was Peter Pan with my husband as Captain Hook, my daughter as Peter Pan, and I was Wendy. I love doing stuff like this because I know these are the memories that our daughter will cherish and remember forever.

Valid points, indeed. Not that this is going to happen, but something seriously needs to be done about the mainstream media and their biased reporting. It is pitiful and disgraceful that they are no longer journalists and they do so much to sway public opinion. While it's true that people should know enough to do their own research, it's a damn shame that we can no longer count on any of them to simply lay out the facts and let individuals decide for themselves. They participate in the election as much as the candidates and other countries and they use us as pawns in their political game.

As for my original question, I still don't know what to expect on Tuesday. Some days I think Clinton will run away with it and other days I feel hopeful that Trump will knock her off her high horse. I heard last night that as many as five countries hacked into her private server and that Huma Abedin could be facing criminal charges over this laptop thing. How in the world can they justify charging Abedin and not Clinton? I want to see prison stripes on that evil woman so bad I can taste it.

Left Behind series
Yes, LadyJ, it's about the Rapture and subsequent rise to power of Antichrist. They did make a movie with Nicholas Cage and I've seen it, but they didn't follow the story accurately, so I don't recommend it. It wasn't a bad movie; it just veers off course from what the authors wrote and I don't think they set themselves up well for a sequel. Even if they had no intention of a sequel, the book is much, much better.

Left Behind series
I started the Left Behind series a couple weeks ago and I am already seven books into it. It's a very compelling story for anyone who is religious, but I think it would also be a good read for folks who aren't. The authors created a very strong story line and it is actually quite scary at times. There are 17 books total, I believe, and I can't wait to see this series through to the end.

It's crazy, isn't it? All of the corruption and lies and people remain devoted to her like she's squeaky clean. I'm really afraid to see what a country run by her is going to look like.

With election day less than two weeks away, I'm curious to know what your gut feeling is about the outcome. I'm not talking about what you want to happen, but what do you think is going to happen? I just don't see how Trump is going to win. I think Hillary will get it, but I also think Trump is going to challenge the results and that could create chaos.

The Rolling Stones Keep Rolling
I really like some Stones songs and I'm happy to see their creative juices are still flowing, but I'm probably not going to buy the new album. I will definitely be curious to hear some of it, though.

*I agree, Siggy, @ some of their songs, especially the lyrics and rhythmic beat to "You Can't Always Get What You Want". Another favourite musician around that same time period was Jimi Hendrix ----->  https://www.msn.com/en-us/music/news/new-jimi-hendrix-album-with-unreleased-songs-coming-in-march/ar-BBGiPa4?li=BBnb7Kz&ocid=mailsignout

Chasing Conspiracies on American Heroes Channel - RFK
LadyJ wrote: Yes, I have to keep my eye on when it comes on. Unfortunately, I see these great previews for shows and then I get side tracked and forget when they are on. So, I have to make more of an effort to remember. I might even need to put a reminder on my calendar!

This happens to me all the time, so I wonder if it's possible to stream this show on demand. If anyone finds out, please let me know. [smile]

As for RFK's assassination, I think it was just as much of a cover up as JFK's assassination. It is no coincidence that these two brothers were murdered and that both investigations leave more questions than answers.

Ohhhh, great suggestion!!! Thank you! Yes, my whole family has a deep passion for music, so I think that would really be a fun sight to see. My daughter has been exposed to a variety of genres and has already been to many concerts and she'll really appreciate seeing the Hall of Fame. Thanks, Admin! [smile]

What do you think we'll find out?
adinfinitum wrote: I think, still, that the CIA will be totally left out of it, again!

I agree. Aside from the obvious cover-up that we all know happened, I think they're scared to even mention the CIA for fear that it will fuel the conspiracy theory fire. They'll leave the CIA out of it and keep calling those of us who know there is more to the story a bunch of nuts.

*An astute assessment, Siggy & Adinfinitum, you guys are nobody's fool.

On yesterday, the actual release date, True to form the CIA and FBI asked that some files remain secret due to " national security" reasons... so much of those files will be under a 180 day review to determine if they ever see the light of day.

The following spells out what the other 2800 files that were released reveals ---->

Even so, wade in carefully because we know the foxes "guarding" the hen house are not going to fully investigate themselves as much as offer us a "limited hangout"--Admin

a "limited hangout" ----> "spy jargon for a favorite and frequently used gimmick of the clandestine professionals. When their veil of secrecy is shredded and they can no longer rely on a phony cover story to misinform the public, they resort to admitting—sometimes even volunteering—some of the truth while still managing to withhold the key and damaging facts in the case. The public, however, is usually so intrigued by the new information that it never thinks to pursue the matter further." -- Victor Marchetti, a former special assistant to the Deputy-Director of the Central Intelligence Agency

Midwest travel suggestions
My seven-year-old and I are taking a road trip to Colorado (from Pennsylvania) soon and I'm looking for places to stop along the way that will be fun for her. From here, we'll be driving through Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, Iowa, and Nebraska and then finally reaching our destination in the northeast corner of Colorado. If anyone has ideas in any of these places, I'm all ears. Thanks! [smile]

George Magazine
I read several issues of it and I remember liking it. I don't remember it starting to decline, but my guess would be that had he lived, he would have either revamped it or moved on to his next big adventure. The world was truly his oyster, after all.

Colin Kaepernick not Standing for National Anthem
I think he's ridiculous. There are many different ways he could make his point without disrespecting his country and our military. He should be ashamed of himself for not only sitting during the Anthem, but also for not finding a better way to speak out. Kids look up to him and he should be using his influence to teach them how to be heard respectfully.

Can they do that?
I heard that they have until sometime in September to do it if they're going to replace him. That was on a news report I was only half listening to, so I can't say what the procedure or criteria is to do so. Personally, I think it would be foolish and I doubt they'll do it.

From NARA by ROKC
I absolutely love reading the original documents. I don't feel like it helps to piece together the puzzle and in a lot of cases it brings up even more questions, but I find the typed reports and handwritten documents fascinating. These are great resources - thanks, Barto!

Alligator attack - is Disney to blame?
I heard yesterday that Disney is paying $10 million to the family, but I don't know if there is any truth to that. Regardless, it's not going to bring their son back.

We were at Disney last November and stayed at a resort that is on the same lake as the Grand Floridian. The beach was closed for construction at our resort and there was a fence preventing people from walking anywhere near it. I thank God for that now because I know my daughter would have found the water's edge to be irresistible. I think there is a perception that Disney is smart enough to have their bases covered and they wouldn't allow folks to be in harm's way, so I really am kind of shocked that they didn't have the appropriate signage marking the beach.

Alligator attack - is Disney to blame?
What does everyone think about the tragedy with the two-year-old at Disney? There were "No swimming" signs on the beach, but absolutely nothing to warn of alligators. Is Disney going to be liable for this or should the parents have kept the little boy from wading in the water?

Change
To answer the question in a current capacity, if we had someone who worked well with both sides of the aisle, change could actually take place. The problem now is that the right can't live with the left's decisions and vice versa and we don't have anyone in the ring who seems to be able to unite the two sides. It also seems that both sides are growing farther apart in what they want and how they see the other side. I actually think that no matter what happens with this election, things are going to get worse because the division is going to become greater.

What do you think we'll find out?
I agree that any recorded interviews that contain valuable information are not going to be released (at least not in their entirety). In fact, I believe there is a possibility that what does get released could end up raising even more questions rather than giving us any answers.

Finally, The CIA Admits Covering Up JFK Assassination?
MissKim wrote: Everything happens for a reason, if we still do not get 100% disclosure than it must have a reason, my guess is (like i said above) people involved back then, still benefit from this. To me it is the only logical conclusion. The time frame set back then (for releasing everything) was set up for a reason, to make sure everyone was dead by then. Plus the fact that i think that the system itself benefits from it.. If we  find out now, we have been lied to for all those years, what does it do for the people in power now? They do not want anarchy..

Hi, Admin. Good to see you, too! [biggrin]

MissKim, the time frame was set to make sure everyone is dead, but from what you said, I'm gathering that you think they still won't reveal the truth and I have to agree with that. I can't imagine the powers that be coming out and saying, "The conspiracy theorists have been right all along...the CIA assassinated the president." I mean, can you wrap your head around the uproar it would cause?? As sad of a situation as this is, it would almost be comical if they finally admitted it.
